Blood and chocolate...

These images are digital reference shots from "The Birth of Abimelek" a very draining, super amazing shoot with `kevissimo and a spectacular team of collaborative artists.

Bet you've never seen a baby covered in chocolate before.

The finished piece is still in the works but with these tests turning out as powerful as they are there's no doubt in my mind that the final work will be beyond my wildest imagination.

Hair today... Gone tomorrow!

Thu Mar 10, 2011, 7:44 PM
This is an excerpt from an awesome email I received today. I am eternally grateful for the amazing people I have the pleasure of meeting and working with.

"I think you are a remarkable person. You have such poise, grace, confidence, beauty. I applaud your tonsorial choice. I've come to learn that no one single feature defines us. In fact, our gestalt physical being does not completely define us. We are the interior. The exterior merely creates a curiosity and interest in what lies below. Whatever beauty exists on the outside compares nothing to the beauty underneath. Some people can make that internal attractiveness seep through the pours of our skin and blanket the body. You do that. Stay adventurous."

And if that wasn't enough, he taught me a new word too.

So what's this all about? ~tissotsgrl and I made the cut! She'd been longing to chop her hair off and it has been way too many years since I've had a shaved head. Last Sunday we decided it was time. There have been mixed reviews but overall everyone seems to be wonderfully supportive of the change, and this email just topped it all.

I know I'm a good model because I work very hard at it. My hair is certainly a useful tool when I have it but I've got plenty of other tools where that came from. If the only reason people wanted to work with me was because they saw a pretty face or pretty hair or a nice chest I doubt I would get as much work as I do putting my all into every creation I choose to be a part of.

Pics soon!

If you've enjoyed what you've seen of my work with Gary Breckheimer in the past, have I got a treat for you!

If you live in or around New York, Los Angeles, or Santa Fe, you don't want to miss this FREE, outdoor art show by an artist who describes this exhibit as his fiftieth birthday present to himself.

The exhibit includes a bunch of models I know and love, like ~e-string, ~atlas-7, and ~spindl, not to mention yours truly. Featured works have been wheat-pasted at or near the locations they were originally shot.

Gary worked with an anonymous partner from 3:20 to 8:30am on the morning of August 3rd putting up 25 original works (with duplicates of some) at 28 locations in New York.

About the time he was finishing up his work on the East Coast ~ImagesOfJenius and I were here on the West Coast driving out to Los Angeles to post the images he'd sent me the day before. We started our work at sunrise at 6:00am and put up posters in two locations, 15 minutes apart. The whole process took about an hour and we got in the car to head home at 7:00am after placing Hot Lunch and Obey in their respective locations. I even sat under my own work of art on the bench where I had sat in the image.

If you think you might live near enough to visit the show here's the list of locations where works are being exhibited. If you don't live near enough to see the exhibit first hand, take a look at the gallery online. And if you're just curious to read more about this whole business, check out this interview with the artist.

Wet and wild...

Sat Jul 17, 2010, 11:04 AM
I'm just about bursting at the seems with joy from seeing the results of my shoot last weekend with `cosfrog and `Battledress. It was a long day for everyone. Between the flat tire that started things off, me still recovering from my recent car accident, and finding that perfect mixture for alien goo, we had a lot of struggles but each new image that comes out of that day just knocks me off my feet. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

In other fun news, tonight I'll be out in Santa Monica with ~SophieNova and other lovelies at Karen Hsiao's Rubber Duck book release party from 8:00 to 11:30. We'll be running around half dressed so don't bring the kids but do come visit if you're in the area and needing an art fix. More beauties in the book include ~miss-mosh, ~vampireleniore, and many, many others. I'll be posting my shots here soon enough but here's some other eye candy to entertain you in the meantime.

Feel like visiting?

If you still haven't had enough and feel like hanging out with ~SophieNova, `Battledress, and I next weekend we'll be doing what we do best at *Doomsday-Dawn's first ever Master Class for Rain and Water Sets. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and there's only one spot left so it's now or never time, people! Come get wet and wild with the whole gang!

Fire Water Burn...

Sat Jul 10, 2010, 3:18 PM
The #Incendiary-Intent camping trip went awesomely. We drank and lit a bunch of stuff on fire... Oh, right and prepped a bunch of stuff for Burning Man.

I got to run around in ~tissotsgrl's hand made cloak. It swept the ground on me since she's a bit taller than I am but wearing it made me want to make my own, with her help of course. Not sure that it will be ready for this year's Burn but it'll be awesome anyway. Here's a few images ~Paindancer got of ~tissotsgrl's wonderful craftsmanship modeled by yours truly.

I've been out and about a lot even apart from the #Incendiary-Intent camping trips. *Doomsday-Dawn took me out shooting a few weeks back and below you'll see one of the pictures I promised you all from that outing. Then he brought out the big guns last Thursday night when I got to wield the Mark 5 for it's final send off. It definitely got a little toasty when the beast said it's last goodbye to me.

In other hot news, there's still one spot left in *Doomsday-Dawn's Rain and Water Master Workshop which will be held two weeks from today on July 24th. Featured models will be ~SophieNova and myself and everyone's favorite lady painter, `Battledress, will be there for makeup and awesome paint effects. If you're seriously wanting to improve your craft you don't want to miss this opportunity. Come on in, the water's fine!

The Oregon Trail...

Fri Jul 2, 2010, 9:08 AM
I took my very first solo, out of state modeling trip last month. On June 13th I got up before the sun and headed to Ontario with ~Chameleon609, who was kind enough to drop me off at the airport for my 6:00 am flight.

The flight went smoothly and I arrived at the Portland International Airport at 8:20 am. ~scorpio60 was there to pick me up and we drove promptly into Vancouver, WA for a delicious crepe breakfast. After breakfast we headed back to his home where I met his beautiful wife and adorable kids and I took a little nap in their guest room before we started shooting. We didn't shoot long but I know we got some amazing images in that little time if the last few times we worked together have taught me anything.

For those of you that don't recall, here's a little reminder from our first shoot in Los Angeles.

I got to visit very briefly with ^Nyx-Valentine since we discovered that our respective Portland, OR trips overlapped just a little and I finished out that day with one shoot in Portland at the Ace Hotel where patrons of the bar across the street ogled and took pictures of their own as the photographer and I worked. I've already gotten some beautiful Polaroid work back from that adventure. Just more eye candy for all of you in the months to come.

The rest of my evening consisted of excellent Thai food and a trip to Voodoo Doughnut that I'd heard so much about. The stories were true. It took me a week to finish the doughnut I purchased there.

The next day I started off well rested with my first shoot at noon. We got in two hours of beautiful wet plate work, my first real, dedicated wet plate shoot. I even get to keep one of the plates for myself.

I spent the next three hours running about part of the city in a poofy yellow dress, not really my style but a lot of fun in any case.

*arealitystudios picked me up after that little excursion and we drove off to find fields and old barns with hiding bats to shoot in. We were attacked by berry bushes as we trudged through to our destination but it paid off big in the end as you can tell.

Delicious pizza for dinner, a foreign film with friends, and off to bed to prepare for the next day.

That third day began with a short session with two painters, ~Tumbleweed7313 and ~MorPhthalo, who took reference photos for what I hope will be several lovely paintings when they're finished.

Then began the first rain of my trip which almost ruined my next shoot in a beautiful, old house. Crisis averted however, the weather was kind enough to allow us enough light to shoot even if we couldn't traipse around outside a bit as was planned.

After that I was retrieved by the photographer I was staying with and we did a short shoot in the basement of his apartment complex, gritty, dirty, and awesome. Delicious veggie Yukon and White Bean Basil Burger at Burgerville, then more sleep.

The next three days were a blur of waterfalls, railroad tracks, abandoned fishing shacks, America's Stonehenge, and burnt out trees as I journeyed through the Columbia River Gorge dancing back and forth over the state line between Oregon and Washington.

I'm glad to be home but it was a beautiful adventure and I'm looking forward to more traveling in the future... Like this weekend's #Incendiary-Intent camping trip.

So much exciting stuff has happened since the end of May!

I have another Daily Deviation to add to the list of those I've been a part of the creation of. On June 5th ~DRSPhotography's beautiful piece was featured by `RockstarVanity and boy did it deserve it. There was a lot of work that went into the final realization of this image so go take a look if you haven't already!

The following day I went out to play in the desert with *dwingephotography and *LuminonPhotography. We had an absolute blast driving around finding fun places to shoot. Here's a few highlights from the trip.

The Wednesday after that *Doomsday-Dawn and I went out to parts unknown to play with fire and he said the one thing nobody should ever say when there's real fire involved, "You're on fire!" So I of course looked frantically about trying to figure out what part of me was lit up before realizing he'd been speaking figuratively. There will be pictures. I promise!

The weekend after that explosive shoot I headed for Portland, but more on that later!

A minute of your time...

Thu Apr 8, 2010, 1:20 PM
I stopped by to visit ~bayola and his new studio a few weeks ago after shoot I had nearby. I hadn't seen the new studio yet so he gave me a little tour and we talked for a few minutes and caught up before he asked me if I wanted to do a quick 5 minute shoot before he headed home to family. I of course said yes we ended up making good use of what ended up being closer to 10 or 15 minutes of shooting.

Here's some of what we got in that little space of minutes.

Just goes to show, it doesn't take long when you know what you're doing.

Back from outer space...

Wed Oct 21, 2009, 11:32 AM
I'm back!

My visit with ^Nyx-Valentine and ~DRSPhotography was awesome! The decompression was lots of fun. There were bright colors, magnificent costumes, tasty goodies, beautiful art, and all sorts of interesting things to do. `wynnesome got a great shot of me playing in the art with my tutu on.

The day before decompression however, is when my run of shoots began. ^Nyx-Valentine joined me for my first shoot in Oakland which was a blast. Though we've known one another for a while now it was the first time we really got to model together, intertwining poses, and playing off each other. We were shot both together and separately during the course of the shoot. Here's an awesome shot of ^Nyx-Valentine from the day. I hope to have some images of me and the two of us up in the near future.

Monday, the day after decompression, I had the chance to work with =KickStart011. We played outdoors, I skinned my knee, and took lots of fun images.

Tuesday I did 4 new sets for Zivity.com, the first of which will be going up soon. I actually got to do one set in the rain. It was my first time shooting in the rain and I loved it!

Sadly the shoot I had scheduled for Wednesday was canceled because of the rain. It was one of the shoots I had been most looking forward to because the photographer was going to be creating wet plate images. With any luck we'll have better weather the next time I visit and actually be able to create together.

My Thursday shoot consisted of running around on a golf course pretending I knew what I was doing which was actually a great deal of fun.

And Friday was two shoots, one indoors, one outdoors.

I left the weekend open so I could hang out with ^Nyx-Valentine and ~DRSPhotography while they were both off work. So Saturday we dragged `opioid, who had joined us on Thursday, with us to Lush, a huge fabric store, and then Baker Beach. ^Nyx-Valentine and I got naked (It's a nude beach.) and ran around in the water and all over the rocks while ~DRSPhotography and `opioid captured our antics. I was really excited because I'd never done a shoot at the beach before. I even got my camera out and shot a few awesome images of ^Nyx-Valentine myself. I'll be posting those in my photography profile soon but, for your viewing pleasure here's some of ~DRSPhotography's work from the day.

Later on in the day somewhere closer to midnight ^Nyx-Valentine made me up and shot me as well. It was an idea we'd been planning since I decided to come visit and I'm really excited about it so even more fun things are on their way.

So the trip was pretty damn cool. I tried a lot of new things, got to create a bunch of awesome art, and it was nice to unwind a little with `arachnid15 and `Katerina423 and their three cats a couple of nights during the visit as well. I'm definitely coming up again soon but first I'm making my way to Arizona and New Mexico.

~ksetrat pointed out that I'd hit the 100k mark for page views a few days ago and *dwingephotography brought it to my attention that another piece I helped to create got a Daily Deviation. Had they not informed me it would probably be next Monday, at the earliest, that I'd have noticed since that's when I'll be returning from out of state.

Now I have to finish some laundry, deposit my paychecks, pay my car insurance, head to a life drawing class, pack, head to another class. Sleep will come eventually and then I'm back on the road before the sun is up.

On the road again...

Sun Oct 4, 2009, 10:51 AM
I'll be beginning my very first solo traveling adventure this week. Wednesday I'll be making my way up to the East Bay Area to visit ^Nyx-Valentine and ~DRSPhotography to join them and other deviants/burners including =KickStart011, ~misspixie93, and `wynnesome at a Burning Man decompression in that area. Looking forward to meeting other deviants as well, namely `arachnid15 and `opioid. I'll also be shooting a little while I'm up there and I still have a few days open for relaxation or possibly other fun shoots if I run across anyone else that's interested in working with me.

But what have I been up to? I've been a busy girl. Had a fun shoot with ~ImagesOfJenius last Tuesday, an awesome dual life drawing session with ~Chameleon609 on Wednesday, went to the LA County Fair during the day and saw Zombieland at midnight on Thursday, then shot with ~littlegett yesterday in his studio since the horror photography workshop fell through due to a lack of sign ups. Today I'm going to play with ~RunAmokPhotography, tomorrow with ~donsirphotography, Tuesday I'm sitting for a life drawing class at the Art Institute, and then bright and early Wednesday morning I'll be on a bus to San Jose, CA. And that brings us full circle. Wish me luck!

Daily Deviations I've Helped to Create

Daily Deviation, 2008-09-25
Mask I by ~littlegett - the concept and execution are phenomenal, from the contrast to the detail there is something magically outstanding going on here. This comes from an amazing pair of true artists. - words by suggester (Suggested by *dwingephotography and Featured by `Helewidis)

Daily Deviation, 2008-11-20
While I promise as GM to feature a wide range of Art Nude styles, artists, and images, I am making my very first DD a nod to the man who got me started as both a photographer and a dA member, the late ~dmGremlin, as well as a to very fine and deserving woman who truly embodies the title of "art model." DMG Untitled 02 by *NevaehLleh is an impeccable, classic, studio fine art nude. This deviation is an untouched scan of a 6x7 film negative, the result of exquisite technical and artistic synchronicity between model and photographer. (Featured by `wynnesome)

Daily Deviation, 2009-07-23
I'm invading the Artistic Nude gallery to 'borrow' my Daily Deviation for today. The suggester says, "There are so many details in Ripped my Heart out by *bexe that tell a bone-chilling story". Enjoy! (Suggested by *drop-asd and Featured by `RockstarVanity)

Daily Deviation, 2009-10-21
I've been hoping for some time that ~koopfilms would submit some of my personal favorites from his work, and Fissure is one of them. Let it lead you to his outstanding gallery, to find favorites of your own! (Featured by `wynnesome)

Daily Deviation, 2010-06-05
St Alessa-Alt. by ~DRSPhotography explores historical and religious concepts with a striking artistic result. (Suggested by !Sarah-L-B and Featured by `RockstarVanity)

Daily Deviation, 2011-01-20
Fongs Delight by *NevaehLleh is an exemplary piece of art that delights the viewer in a dark and twisted manner. (Featured by `serpentinekiss)
